More details on this spreadsheet

The purpose of this spreadsheet is to generate time series for the domestic hot water needs. The operating conditions are given as daily tapping profiles for work days, holidays and possibly Saturdays. The data for the typical days are assembled to generate the full year of hourly time series.

This spreadsheet can be used stand-alone to generate monthly or hourly data series of domestic hot water needs for one year.

The hourly results can also be used to complete the hourly time series of the demo spreadsheet tool on EN 16798-1 based on EN 16798-1 that specifies all other operating conditions (occupancy, required thermal comfort schedules, ventilation, internal heat gains and moisture & CO2 production, lighting).

However, the hourly time series from EN 12832-3 in itself don’t have all the calendar features of EN 16798-1, most importantly the settling period. Therefore, the daily needs are calculated with the spreadsheet on EN 12831-3 and the result can be transferred into the spreadsheet for EN 16798-1 to get an hourly time series which is consistent with all others.
