Conversion from TMY data set to input for (EN) ISO 52010-1

A set of meteorological data (a Typical Meteorological Year, TMY), with data values for every hour in a year for a given geographical location, can be generated using a tool developed and made available by the EC Joint Research Centre (JRC).
Now, the EPB Center has created a tool to convert such a JRC-TMY data set into the format that is needed as input for the demo XLS on (EN) ISO 52010-1.

About this spreadsheet

NOTE: In the series of spreadsheets to demonstrate the use of specific EPB standards, this is a special spreadsheet, because it creates a link between data generated by a third party and the input needed to make a calculation according to a specific EPB standard.
Updated version 2021-10-01: only minor editorial changes

A set of meteorological data (a Typical Meteorological Year, TMY), with data values for every hour in a year for a given geographical location, can be generated using a tool developed and made available by the EC Joint Research Centre (JRC): the TMY generator.
The data are selected from hourly data in a longer time period (normally 10 years or more) following the procedure described in (EN) ISO 15927-4.
These data include the (total and diffuse) hourly solar irradiance at horizontal plane.

(EN) ISO 52010-1 is part of the set of ISO and CEN standards to assess the overall energy performance of buildings (EPB)
The main element in ISO 52010-1 is the calculation of hourly solar irradiance on a surface with arbitrary orientation and tilt,
based on (total and diffuse) hourly solar irradiance at horizontal plane, e.g. based on the procedure described in (EN) ISO 15297-4.
