ABOUT THESE DOCUMENTS
Description of national calculation methodology, following the national annexes of the overarching standards ISO 52000-1, 52003-1, 52010-1, 52016-1 and 52018-1 developed under mandate M/480 given to the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN).
The National Annexes have been adopted and registered in 2020-2021 by the National Standardization Body, Latvian Standard (LVS). Information on the National Annexes is available and can be found through standards catalogue.
Both the standards and National Annexes are currently available in Latvian.
Further to this, Cabinet Regulations No.222 of April 8, 2021 “Methods for calculating energy performance of buildings and regulations for energy certification of buildings” were adopted. These regulations provide the necessary legal framework for the implementatio of EPB. Please note that EN translation of the legal text is not yet available.
These Cabinet Regulations provide for that energy certification is carried out pursuant to standards LVS EN ISO 52000-1:2017, LVS EN ISO 52003-1:2020, LVS EN ISO 52010-1:2021, LVS EN ISO 52016-1:2021, and LVS EN ISO 52018-1:2020.
Pursuant to Regulations, standards that are to be used for the purpose of compliance with the Cabinet Regulations are published on the official website of the National standardization body, Latvian Standard (LVS).

Additional information: Following the adoption of the National Annexes, by February, 2021, a Guidebook (initial version) has been prepared in order to facilitate correct implementation of the Cabinet Regulations and standards at issue. It is planned to have a Guidebook translated in English. For the public visibility of information on energy performance of buildings as well as public consultations for further refinement of the Guidebook, it is made publicly available on a website maintained by the Latvian Association of Heat, Gas and Water Technology Engineers (LSGŪTIS).
